Lavera Honey Moments

19.9.12

I feel a bit weird blogging about my current shower gel of choice but it's really quite lovely. Lavera Honey Moments Shower and Bath Gel is free from parabens, mineral oils, synthetic perfumes and colorants, which I'm not quite as worried about in products that wash off but it's always a bonus and this feels incredibly gentle on the skin.

As I find with most honey products, it doesn't really smell of honey. The citrus notes are a lot stronger, and it really smells like NUXE Reve de Miel lip balm. The last true honey scent I smelt was a L'Occitane product which has long since been discontinued but if anyone knows of something that actually smells of honey, I'd love some suggestions!

Anyway this gets top marks from me for doing it's job whilst being very gentle and free from nasties.  It's definitely something I'd pick up again - although I am now on a mission for something that will make me smell like a beehive rather than an orange grove (as lovely as that is). It's about £6.50 which isn't bad at all for a 'clean' everyday product, especially as the tube is lasting quite a while. I bought mine from Feel Unique, but Lavera products are also available at Holland and Barrett.

  1. Have you tried any other Lavera products? I found their masks to be quite good and was wondering what you thought about their other lines.

  2. Sounds lovely, a shame it doens't truly smell of honey though. I'd really like a honey product and to 'smell like a beehive' :)

  5. This sounds really nice - I love honey and orange products and I especially love that it's natural. I may need to try it in future. The only products I've ever found that are truly honey scented and may make you "smell like a beehive" were from either Burt's Bees or L'Occitane. There is a Burt's Bees hand cream that literally smells like you're rubbing honey on your hands, but it's rather sticky/greasy. xx

  6. L'occitane has a new (permanent) line called Bonne Mere that has all products in both Milk and Honey scents! To me the honey one smells a whole lot like honey, so maybe you could check that out? :) They have shower cream, all-purpose cream (hand, body and face), a soap and hand wash! :)

  7. L'occitane have a new line called Bonne Mere which has a honey scent! There is a shower gel (more like a cream though), Hand Wash, Soap and an all-purpose cream (hand, face and body). It's really nice! They have all the products with Milk scent as well, but the honey one is really lovely :)

  8. I'm from Germany, and here it only costs around 4€, but nevertheless it's a really nice product. They've also got a coconut vanilla version which I'm currently obsessed with :)

  11. Just couple of weeks ago I got their Basis Sensitiv face wash - because I was on really tight budget but I can´t live without face wash and Lavera was the cheapest one in the shop - ladies, this is the shit. You will have baby skin and when I say baby skin, I mean it. I think I´m done with my product research and probably never want to try other face washes. Hmm but this shower gel looks nice too and I´ll run out of mine soon so I will definitely now try this Lavera one! x

  15. I think the boots extracts body butter in the honey variety smells like honey. I like the smell but thought it was a bit overwhelming at first but now I love the way it fades. This is also one of those body butters you can use before you put clothes on because it doesn't leave an oily film, so good for winter when you need extra hydration but don't want to be oily before you get dressed.
