Chanel's AW12 collection has been filtering onto UK counters since about the 24th August, and there is one item that has been saved on my Pinterest board since it was used in shows months and months ago - a new Le Vernis nail colour shade in 559 Frenzy.
Let's face it, nobody spends the (frankly extortionate) £18 price tag on a Chanel polish for their exceptionally long lasting formula. I fully expect this to chip in about three days, like every other Le Vernis besides Peridot - though I should add it applied nicely in two coats. What I'm personally after is their well thought out, unique shades. And maybe a little bit of the Chanel brand somewhere in my subconscious.
Yes, there is probably a plethora of close dupes but even this shade, a seemingly pedestrian lavender-grey taupe, has caused me no end of problems to photograph and it still looks a little too warm on my screen. Next to Nails Inc Porchester Square it leaned a milkier grey, but photographed alone there are definite hints of nude-y tan. On my hands? It's paler and much nearer a nude than the grey I expected but the lavender tones are also quite prominent. It makes hands look clean, professional but also a little bit different. Definitely a future staple.

It's GORGEOUS. Think I need. x

This color is a real beauty! And your nails look so well cared for :)
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing!
ReplyDeleteThe colour combination of nude-lavendar-grey sounds very interesting but I probably wouldn't spend that much on a nail polish. It does look lovely though :)
ReplyDeleteI love all three of the new AW shades! Great post x

Lovely nude shade. :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks really nice, it's a color I wouldn't usually gravitate towards. But it looks so much nicer on than in the bottle.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous...this shade is just so chic.Love it.
ReplyDeleteReally pretty x
ReplyDeleteI love that tone on your hands. I have to say i must have around four nail polishes all very similar in tone to that. I wish i could stop purchasing similar polishes but i can't. Very wearable and looks neat and polished. Goes with everything. x
ReplyDeleteI love this colour. I have a very similar shade from Ted Baker and you are right they make your hands look perfectly polished!
ReplyDeleteThat shade really suits your skintone but I have a feeling it would look awful on me. I do like to keep an eye on Chanel's collections though, there have been some beauties xo

It is a lovely colour, but I don't think I could justify spending £18 on it

Oh wow, Chanel is too luxurious for me at the moment but the colour is pretty, makes me think of winter! Couldn't justify the price for it though eek! No matter what polish/layers I use, it still chips in days for me!

I find all my Chanel polishes, two coats with a base and top of Essie's 3 Way Glaze, last a good week to 10 days without chipping! I've tried Essie polishes and some others and in comparison they have a much thinner composition and chip a lot quicker.
ReplyDeleteLooks like my kind of colour! Though I'm wearing Essie Sand Tropez right now and its got to be almost an exact dupe!

ReplyDeleteLove it!! I'm wearing it now :) you are right the photos give off a different tone of colour--- it's one of my favourite colours & my all time favourite for AW has always been the rouge noir--- think Uma Therman in pulp fiction! :) --- shame about the price tag from Chanel :(
