I was hoping to bring you a post today about a Bourjois product I picked up last week and absolutely LOVE. But in true 'Meg' style, I remembered to pack my camera but failed to put the battery in! So instead I thought I'd show you my 'new' haircut (riveting, I'm sure), for those that aren't on Instagram.
I've been deliberating having my fringe chopped back in for a while now but I was worried that, as I'd *ahem* gained a little weight, it wouldn't flatter my face anymore. However growing it out just wasn't working for me, my 'fringe' had pretty much stopped growing at an awkward length where it didn't quite join the mid-lengths of my hair and I couldn't do much with it. So when I went for a rather belated haircut today I had it cut back in. I've had a similar haircut since I was about 17 (bar a brief spell with a pixie cut and this recent growing out attempt) so, as soon as it was cut back in, I felt a bit more like 'me' than I have done in a while. Funny what a haircut can do!
Anyway apologies for the slightly pointless post but here's a progress and final photo. Say 'Hi' to my hairdresser, Tim. You may see him in a video soon because he can do a much better job of explaining how he cuts shorter hair (today there was a razor involved?!). I've had quite a few comments and emails lately enquiring what I ask for when I go to the hairdressers, but to be honest Tim has sorted my mop out for about 5 years so I pretty much sit down and let him get on with it...unless he picks up one of those texturising powders (OSIS Dust It, etc.) which I hate with a passion.
Normal service will resume tomorrow. Don't be too mean if you think I look like a mushroom. x

It really suits you. I really want one, but my forehead is too small, and it makes my face look out of proportion!? :-(
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely! I agree a good haircut makes you feel so different!
ReplyDeleteYour haircut looks great! Very Alexa Chung-esque! In fact, you look a lot like her in that photo!

ReplyDeleteyou look amazing! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderfully natural and fresh. There is a definite Alexa Chung vibe happening, but the haircut still looks like you.
ReplyDeleteOhh..you look so lovely :)
ReplyDeletehonestly, it is amazing!!!!!
ReplyDeleteit really suits you and gives your hair more personality!!!!!
Your hair is beautiful!! Love it :)
ReplyDeleteOh Meg, definitely the right decision, it looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI had exactly the same thing as you- I had a bob with a fringe for my entire childhood, but then people used to tease me about it at secondary school due to my complete ignorance of hair straighteners (I used to get the devil flicks, a more extreme version of whats going on with yours in the progress picture) and so had a side fringe for quite a while. Then I wanted to get it cut back in but worried I'd look like a fat 5 year old since I haven't got the slimmest face, but I think its ok. Still can't wear it with my glasses though- looks way too Velma.
Oh, and have you seen Kathy's video about fringes? It is one of my absolute favourites.

You look stunning! x
ReplyDeleteit looks lovely, you're gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteA fringe really suits your eyes. Something about the cut looks very mod to me, love that! Mushroom? Nah, not at all!
ReplyDeleteI always preferred you with bangs! It looks really pretty. I used to have a fringe but because my hair is naturally frizzy and wavy it was so high maintenance so I am super jealous of yours :)

Oooh I love your hair with a fringe! The first time I found your channel on youtube (and you may hate me for saying this as I think you've said you dislike it before) it's because I was searching 'Alexa Chung' and all the comments about your hair resembling hers made your videos pop up! So whenever I mentally picture you in my head (not in a weird way, you know, in a "I'm reading you blog and I picture someone typing it" way) you have a fringe because it's how I first saw you on youtube. I'm really jealous actually, I could never have a fringe like that because my hair is so wispy and rubbish, but it definitely suits you! Lots of love xx
ReplyDeleteI really like the full bangs on you! I actually need to go in and get mine trimmed since they are finally getting long after my stylist accidentally cut them way too short back in February. That's the one thing with bangs, you have to find a really good stylist to cut them otherwise they mess them up! It looks like you have that covered though! :)
ReplyDeletebleachedfreckledpeach.blogspot.com
A fringe looks lovely on you! I had one briefly and have a bit of a desire to return to it, but I have quite a small forehead and it just doesn't seem to work.
ReplyDelete♥ Jessica
You look gorgeous! Bangs completely suit you, you're not even remotely mushroom-like. :)
ReplyDeleteYou look absolutely wonderful, no resemblance to a mushroom whatsoever!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, you hair cut looks lovely! Wish I had a good hair dresser, have been on the hunt for years and still no luck. For me going to the hair dressers is like going to the dentist... X
ReplyDeleteravesndramblings.blogspot.nl

You are very, very pretty, and the style suits you. I wish I could pull it off!
ReplyDeleteYou are very, very pretty, and the style suits you! I wish I could pull it off.
ReplyDeleteThe only "bad" thing is that the bangs cover up your beautifully arched eyebrows...
ReplyDeleteI am unable to pull off bangs :( But they look amazing on you!
ReplyDeleteAnd by the way, mushrooms are cute! So if they tell you you look like one,
remember this :)
x
I love this! My hair used to yo yo from long to a bob and now I'm growing my fringe out after about five years which feels odd! Always so tempted to go short again, it looks great on you :) x
ReplyDeletethemusingsofflorence.blogspot.com/
I live in the east London hackney area and i am probably wrong but I think you mentioned in one of your videos that you do too.. My trusted hair dresser has just moved down under and I am in need of a haircut. Long story short could you give me the name of the hairdressers? Thanks :) x
ReplyDeleteThe salon is in Essex...not sue if that is any good as it's quite rural? But it's called Kennadys.
DeleteYour haircut looks so nice! You look lovely with a fringe. I really like how across the pond you say fringe instead of *shudder* bangs. Kind of thinking I should start a petition to change that here in Canada...
ReplyDeleteGuapisima
ReplyDeleteYou look great with a full fringe. It suits you xxxx
ReplyDeleteWow, you actually look completely different with a fringe! I think it really suits you, you look beautiful Meg :) xo
