Bourjois Healthy Mix Correcting Concealer

8.6.12

Here's the product I wanted to blog about yesterday. It's not a new product, but it is new to me and I'm really loving it. My usual concealer, Collection Lasting Perfection, was becoming a little to dry for my under eye area and after the brief spell of sunshine both shades 1 and 2 were no longer suiting my skin.

I spotted the Bourjois Healthy Mix Correcting Concealer in Boots and it looked like the sort of shade and texture I was after. I picked up shade 52 'medium radiance' which is fairly neutral, meaning it works quite happily as both an under eye concealer and to cover minor blemishes. As the bottom photo shows, blended out it has good medium coverage whilst still looking like skin. It covers dark circles without looking cakey or overly 'radiant' - which I find often means so shiny that it draws attention to the problem you were trying to cover! Best of all the longevity is great and I've had no creasing issues at all (hallelujah!), despite the quite pronounced lines under my eyes. The packaging is also more sanitary than the doe-foot applicator of the Collection concealer.

Unfortunately it is scented, like most of the Healthy Mix range, but I haven't had any issues with skin irritation or breakouts. It's a little pricey at £7.49 for 10ml, but this is the best under eye concealer I've found on the high street.

  3. Their "Touche Healthy Mix" concealer pen is also BRILLIANT for under-eye circles. It's slightly pink toned so rubbish for my face, but I find it has an outstanding "corrective" effect under my eyes.

  5. I like that this concealer is relatively neutral...makes it that much more multipurpose! My MAC studio finish is nearly out so maybe I can find this on US Ebay xx

  11. i have used everything from vitamin e cream to garnier roll on to ysl, i'm now using collection 2000 under my eyes and i find that it's okay but i have to use not very much or it's cakey and/or shiny, thus like you said, drawing attention to the area as opposed to away like i want! i've always had problems with under eye bags/dark circles, so i will be trying this thanks to your advice! :) x

  16. I have been using that concealer too. It's awesome, I think its my new go to concealer. I have it in a shade lighter than my foundation (because the shops didn't have my colour in stock), but it works well because the lighter colour really brightens my under eye area.

I mentioned it in my May favourites on my blog :)

  22. Ooooh, this may be worth a try. I use the Collection lasting perfection concealer and it's just too heavy for my eye area and always creases!

  28. Hello! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this website?

I'm getting fed up of Wordpress because I've had problems with hackers and I'm looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be awesome if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
